The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is currently accepting applications until June 9, 2013, for the position of State Trooper.

"It is extremely critical that we get good people to apply," said Mike Thompson, Commissioner of Public Safety. "Applicants don't need previous law enforcement experience, they just need to have a willingness to serve the State of Oklahoma," said Thompson.

Minimum requirements include an Associate's Degree or 62 college credit hours, be between the ages of 23 and 45 with no felony convictions. Uniforms, equipment and take home cars are provided.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Chief, Colonel Kerry Pettingill encourages women and other minorities to apply. "If you've ever considered a career in law enforcement, we hope you'll consider the Oklahoma Highway Patrol." said Pettingill.
