Sixth Annual Walk for Special Olympics

On Friday, May 5th, 2006, Oklahoma Highway Patrol Captain Stewart Meyer and his wife, Beth Ann, a third grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary in Chickasha, OK, will begin their sixth walk from Chickasha to Stillwater. Their goal for this 125-mile journey is to raise funds and public awareness for Special Olympics OK. They will reach their destination, the campus of Oklahoma State University, on Wednesday, May 10th.

All proceeds from this event will support Special Olympics Oklahoma through the Law Enforcement Torch Run, a world wide year-round fund raising and public awareness campaign managed solely by law enforcement officers for Special Olympics.

In the past five years, the Meyers have raised over $16,000.00.

Special Olympics is an international program which provides year- round sports training and athletic competition in 25 Olympic-type sports for children and adult special athletes.

If you have any questions, please contact CPT. Meyer at 405-425-2272.
